The Mastermind session this week was not about predictions, trends, or quick wins.
It was about something more fundamental: how traction is created.
If you were not able to attend live, the full recording is now available. It is worth watching if you want a clearer sense of what to focus on in the months ahead.
Over the past few years, many agents have felt the ground shift under their feet. The market has changed. Consumer behaviour has changed. Technology has changed. And with that, a lot of familiar playbooks stopped producing the same results.
Last year, our team completed 350 transactions. We did that in an environment where many agents were doing fewer deals than the year before. That did not happen because of timing or luck. It happened because we stayed focused on the few things that actually move the business forward and ignored everything else.
One of the biggest ideas we covered on the call was this:
Where you are today is largely the result of what you were doing 90 days ago.
That is not meant to create pressure. It is meant to create clarity. If you want different results in 90 days, the place to start is not with the market. It is with your habits.
We talked about three areas that consistently separate agents who feel in control from those who feel reactive.
The first is face to face connection. Calls, emails, and ads matter, but nothing builds trust faster than meeting someone. When you meet people, you stop being a voice on the phone and become a real person in their world. That changes everything about how follow ups work.
The second is open houses done with intention. Most people go to open houses just to look. Most agents run open houses just to open the door. The opportunity lives in what happens between those two things. When you create a reason for conversation and invite people into a small interaction, relationships start to form.
The third is prospecting with the right mindset. The goal is not to find someone who wants to buy or sell today. The goal is to find people who are willing to stay in touch. Those relationships become the deals that show up later. That is how pipelines are built.
One story shared on the call stayed with a lot of people. It came from an old mentor who realized that only 1 out of 100 calls turned into a real connection. Once he knew that, every hang up and every no simply meant he was getting closer to the one that mattered. The work became easier when it had meaning.
That is what this business really is. A long term process of creating relationships, staying consistent, and letting the results show up over time.
This year is not about doing everything.
It is about doing the right things, well, and often.
That is where real momentum comes from.
