Which Social Platform Should You Actually Use.... here's the answer

HEY REALTOR

It never fails, but every time I speak on stage or appear on a podcast I get the same question: “Which social media platform should I use?”

Here is my hot take: if you have no following yet, or you are just getting started, do not use ANY OF THEM. Forget about Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Snapchat. Do not USE ANY OF THEM.

You are wasting time and mental energy right now thinking about “creating a Facebook page” or “posting on Instagram”, so scratch it from your to-do list.

It’s gone. Forget about it now.

While we’re removing things from your list, ask yourself this one gut check on every task:

“Am I excited to invest my time in this?” If the answer is no, delete it and move on.

I once told someone at an event to forget about social media entirely and watched the relief wash over their face. They assumed they had to do it and didn’t realize not doing it was also an option.

Listen, let’s not get this twisted: social media rewards the passionate and the consistent.

  • If you love creating educational videos, keep posting on YouTube.

  • If you enjoy community conversations, show up in those Facebook groups.

  • If you love taking gorgeous photos, keep sharing on Instagram, shine on.

But if you find yourself staring at a blank screen every morning trying to figure out what to post, you have my permission to remove it from your checklist.

so with your to-do list cleared away, what will you do with that extra time?

Doing more deals is a natural byproduct of doing the right things.
